Gone: A Collection of EPs 2000-2007 is a compilation album by Japanese rock band Mono, released in 2007. It is a compilation of several EPs and non-album tracks, ordered chronologically.
Shorter quieter tracks, longer anthemic tracks. Moody, instrumental,
beautiful, emotional, maturity.
It’s like listening to violent waves crashing
against each other in the darkest storm,

before calming down to glassy
ripples in the glowing sun.
Strings and additional instruments start to kick
in halfway through the release.
Track 2 has a left-right craziness the last half of the piece, something a little different from the band. Vocals in Italian on ‘Black Rain’ by Giovanna Cacciola. Track 9 has quite the classical sound. All pieces were remastered from original tapes. Their music expresses everything that matters - passion, pain, joy, suffering, transcedence - and fills the void between what we know and the vital mystery that keep us evolving as a species. Most "art" these days is, as Oscar Wilde said, completely useless but I would value Mono's music as being as vital as anything the human spirit needs to endure. This is no mere hyperbole - I truly mean what I say here, and I encourage anyone half-intrigued to stump up a few quid to see if I'm right. Play 'Little Boy' just once and I think you will find your life has been changed just a little bit for the better. Awesome!!
Α GREAT COLLECTION.Highly Recommended!
I just wrote a blog post about them and I was wondering who else enjoyed their sound. I'm trying to play my guitar along with their songs and its so much fun. They are great!
